Endodontics

Root Canal and Tooth-Saving Treatments

The word "root canal" often carries an unfair reputation, but in reality, it is one of the most effective endodontic treatments to relieve pain and rescue a tooth that might otherwise need to be extracted. We carry out a full range of endodontic care — from routine treatment and same-day options, to specialised procedures for trauma, resorption and complex retreatment cases.

Root Canal Treatment

Re-Root Canal Treatment

Root Canal Treatment

RCT removes infected or damaged pulp, thoroughly cleans and seals the inside of the tooth and restores it to normal function. It helps relieve pain, prevent further infection and preserve your natural tooth as a long-term alternative to extraction.

Single-Visit RCT

Re-Root Canal Treatment

Root Canal Treatment

Single-visit root canal treatment allows suitable cases to be completed in one appointment using advanced techniques for efficient cleaning, disinfection and sealing. It offers fewer dental visits, less disruption to your schedule and a quicker path to relief while maintaining the same careful treatment standards.

Re-Root Canal Treatment

Endodontic Retreatment  addresses persistent or recurring infection in a tooth that has previously undergone root canal treatment. By removing the existing filling, thoroughly cleaning and disinfecting the canals and resealing them, retreatment can give the tooth a second chance while avoiding extraction.

Endodontic Surgery

Dental Trauma Management

Re-Root Canal Treatment

Apicoectomy is a minor surgical procedure used to treat persistent infection at the tip of a tooth root after root canal treatment. By removing the infected tissue and root tip and sealing the area, it can help eliminate infection and preserve the natural tooth when conventional retreatment is not suitable.

Dental Trauma Management

Dental Trauma Management

Dental Trauma Management

Dental trauma care provides prompt treatment for chipped, cracked, displaced or knocked-out teeth following accidents or injuries. Early assessment and treatment can help preserve the affected tooth, restore its function and appearance, and improve its chances of long-term survival.

Vital Pulp Therapy

Dental Trauma Management

Dental Trauma Management

A conservative treatment that preserves healthy pulp tissue when a tooth is only partially affected by decay or injury. By protecting or removing only the damaged portion of the pulp, it can help maintain the tooth’s natural vitality and support healthy root development, particularly in young patients.

Cracked Teeth Management

Post and Core Restoration

Cracked Teeth Management

Begins with carefully assessing the crack to determine its location and severity, using clinical examination and imaging where needed. Depending on the damage, treatment may range from monitoring or a filling to a protective crown or root canal, with early diagnosis offering the best chance of saving the tooth.

Internal Bleaching

Post and Core Restoration

Cracked Teeth Management

A targeted whitening treatment for teeth that have darkened or discoloured following root canal treatment. By applying a whitening agent inside the tooth, it can restore a more natural, even colour while preserving the surrounding teeth and natural tooth structure.

Resorptive Defects Management

Rebuilds a severely damaged, root canal-treated tooth when there is not enough natural structure to support a crown. A post anchors the core material within the tooth, creating a stable foundation for a durable crown that restores strength, function and appearance.

Resorptive Defects Management

Resorptive Defects Management

Resorptive Defects Management

Occurs when the body begins to break down part of a tooth’s structure, either from inside the tooth or along the outer root surface. Early diagnosis and targeted treatment can help stop the resorption, preserve healthy tooth structure and improve the chances of saving the affected tooth.

Periapical Lesions Management

Resorptive Defects Management

Periapical Lesions Management

Periapical lesions are areas of infection or cyst-like changes that develop around the tip of a tooth root, often due to long-standing infection. Treatment focuses on eliminating the underlying infection through root canal treatment or retreatment with minor surgery sometimes needed to remove a persistent lesion and support healing.

Laser-Assisted Endodontics

Resorptive Defects Management

Periapical Lesions Management

Laser-assisted root canal treatment enhances conventional therapy by using focused laser energy to improve disinfection in hard-to-reach areas of the root canal system. Used alongside standard cleaning and irrigation, it can help reduce bacteria more effectively and support the long-term success of treatment, particularly in complex infections.

Regenerative Endodontic Procedures

Regenerative Endodontic Procedures

Regenerative Endodontic Procedures

An advanced treatment for young permanent teeth with damaged or infected pulp before the roots have fully developed. By supporting the tooth’s natural healing and continued root development, it can help create stronger, more resilient teeth and preserve them for the long term.

Emergency Endodontic Care

Regenerative Endodontic Procedures

Regenerative Endodontic Procedures

Provides prompt treatment for severe tooth pain, dental abscesses and other urgent problems affecting the tooth’s inner tissues. Rapid diagnosis and pain relief, combined with appropriate treatment such as root canal therapy or abscess drainage, can help control infection and prevent further complications.

Frequently Asked Questions

Root canal treatment (RCT) is a dental procedure performed to save a tooth when the soft inner tissue (pulp) becomes infected or inflamed due to decay, cracks or injury. You might need it if you experience severe tooth pain, prolonged sensitivity to heat or cold, swelling or tenderness in the gums. The treatment removes the infected pulp, cleans and disinfects the inside of the tooth, then seals it to prevent further infection—allowing you to keep your natural tooth.

Contrary to common myths, most patients report that a root canal is no more uncomfortable than getting a filling. Local anesthesia is used to numb the tooth and surrounding area, ensuring comfort during the procedure. In fact, the treatment relieves the intense pain caused by the infection, providing immediate relief once the damaged tissue is removed.

A standard root canal usually takes 60 to 90 minutes. For appropriately selected cases—such as teeth without abscesses or complex anatomy—it can be completed in a single visit. Advances in technology allow for efficient cleaning and sealing, making single-visit treatments safe and effective. We will assess your specific condition to determine the best approach.

If you experience pain or infection in a tooth that’s already had RCT, you may need re-root canal treatment or endodontic retreatment. This involves reopening the tooth, removing the previous filling material, thoroughly cleaning and disinfecting the canals and sealing them again. In some cases where retreatment isn’t possible, an apicoectomy (surgical procedure to remove the root tip) may be recommended. Both options aim to save your natural tooth and avoid extraction.

Don't Wait Until It's Too Late!

Timely endodontic care isn’t just about relieving pain—it’s a critical step in preserving your natural dentition and avoiding more complex, costly treatments down the road. When infection or inflammation reaches the dental pulp, early intervention through root canal treatment can prevent tooth loss, abscess formation, and the need for extraction. The longer you delay, the greater the risk of irreversible damage spreading to surrounding tissues and adjacent teeth—especially in cases where decay or trauma has compromised the tooth’s structural integrity.

Your natural tooth is a valuable asset—protect it with prompt, expert endodontic treatment. Take the next step today for a healthier, more confident smile tomorrow. Reach out to us!
